Protecting Marxism – Leninism in the new situation

Anti-Marxism-Leninism often read, study and thoroughly understand the fundamentals of it. For this reason, we need to be steadfast in the viewpoints of Marxism – Leninism to counter distorted and hostile arguments. Marxist – Leninist doctrine is of revolutionary and scientific nature. It seeks to solve problems that appears in daily life in an objective, comprehensive, historical and concrete manner in order to renovate the world toward a progressive and humanitarian direction. As shown in history, since the advent and development of Marxism - Leninism in the mid of the 19th century, its systems of ideologies, viewpoints, principles, socio-economic rules have been increasingly recognized and become an ideological foundation, a lodestar and a sharp ideological tool for revolutionary activities of worker class, labourers and their pioneering parties. Its livelihood is manifested not only in the creative application to the leadership of communist and workers parties as well as peace lovers in the world making it an indispensable handbook in the intellectual treasure of the human kind, but also in the way that it has become a scientific base for offending wrong and hostile viewpoints and arguments. Only by staying firm with the viewpoints of Marxism – Leninism, can we be self-confident, steadfast and resolute to the dangerous conspiracies, overcoming our reluctance and cowardice to the hardships, challenges and devilish criticism of hostile forces. Through studying Marxism – Leninism we know that, besides its fundamentals, it also contains knowledge of different fields and there are also many other theses about socialism which are still relevant today. However, the two founders of the doctrine have never considered it an absolute truth, an available effective therapy, a solution to all problems. Instead, it just a methodological suggestion. How to apply it to each particular reality depends on the effort and creativity of revolutionists, and on each particular circumstance and condition. This must not be mechanical and dogmatic.
Besides, it is necessary to strengthen theoretical study and practice review to enhance the livelihood and value of Marxism – Leninism in present time. Marxism – Leninism is not dogmatic. Socialism is not a fix but flexible and creative model in real life. Its value lies in the way that not all sayings of Marx are eternal truths for revolutionists to apply without consideration of specific circumstance. We should not consider Marxist – Leninist theory a perfection and inviolability but developing it to meet the requirements of reality.
Countering effectively with distortions of hostile forces, our Party continues to set Marxism – Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought as ideological ground and the lodestar for its operations. For our country, the livelihood of Marxism – Leninism is shown in the whole evolution of the revolution under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, in the popularization and creative application into specific condition and circumstance in each stage, making it relevant to Vietnam’s reality. Reality of Vietnamese revolution over the past 85 years, particularly great achievements of the renovation cause under the leadership of the Party, enlightened by Marxism – Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought, has further consolidated the belief and pride of each cadre, party member and people in Marxism – Leninism and the road to socialism that our Party, Uncle Ho and our people have chosen. In the previous national congress and especially in the draft political report to the 12thnational congress, our Party continues to affirm the steadfastness with the aim of national independence and socialism basing on the ground of Marxism – Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought. Renovation does not mean abandoning but fully understanding, creatively applying and developing Marxism – Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought. History has proved that if we are dubious about our ideology, our leadership will be disorientated, confused and then failure is inevitable. Therefore, being steadfast with and creatively applying Marxism – Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought is a matter of principle to our Party, the mission of paramount importance in the system of ideological and theoretical work, especially in the transition period to socialism in our country. This is also the answer refuting adverse and hostile arguments aimed at Marxism – Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought on the threshold of the 12th National Congress of the Party.

That is to remain steadfast in Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, flexibly apply and develop them to Vietnam condition.
