Vietnamese expats contribute ideas to Party Congress’ draft documents
Vietnamese expats living in Australia contributed their ideas to draft documents of the 13th National Party Congress at a virtual seminar held by the Embassy of Vietnam in Canberra on November 7.
Attendees included representatives from intellectuals, researchers, business leaders and students who enthusiastically expressed their opinions in various areas, such as economy, education, human resources development and sustainable development.
Most speakers held the draft documents in high regard, saying they have been thoroughly drafted with high coherence and combination of theory and practice, and consistency and innovation.
The documents made objective, comprehensive and specific assessments about the achieved outcomes and clarified limitations, weaknesses as well as their causes and lessons drawn, they said, adding that major viewpoints, policies and main solutions over the next five years, with a vision towards 2030 and 2045, have also been outlined towards realising the goal of turning Vietnam into a developed, socialist-oriented country in the middle of this century.
The attendees suggested that more assessment be made about factors favourable for socio-economic development, thus strengthening the feasibility of the development goals in the next five years.
Some urged focusing more on attracting Vietnamese talents overseas and encouraging contributions of Vietnamese expats as a way to create a breakthrough in educational reforms and developing human resources for national development.
A representative of the student community urged specific solutions to foster a more dynamic, enthusiastic young generation and a special attention on the youth's role in each sector in the national socio-economic development strategy in the next 10 years as they are able to adapt to the rapid growth of science and technology./.

It is so democratic that the Party gather all ideas of Vietnamese inside and outside to build the guidelines for the development of the country
Overseas Vietnamese might be miles away from Vietnam, but our hearts are always with the motherland. Our party often has a 5-year plan with targets in economic development. We especially want to know about Vietnam's economic achievements over the years.
I think the spirit of the draft political report is great. The report pointed out that we need to improve Vietnamese enterprises' competitive ability in international markets. However, how we make this happen is a real challenge, as our legal documents sometimes overlap, which must be taken into account

The draft documents to be presented at the upcoming National Party Congress are attracting attention from overseas Vietnamese worldwide.
I do believe that Vietnam will be a developed, socialist-oriented country in the middle of this century.
I think the draft political report really focuses on Vietnam's sovereignty, peace, and stability. Overseas Vietnamese always follow these subjects as they are very important. They don't affect our lives, but they definitely affect our feelings, as overseas Vietnamese are an essential part of Vietnam.
The full text of several draft documents of the 13th National Party Congress has been published for public feedback from October 20 to November 10.
Collecting public feedback aims to promote citizens’ right to mastery and pool ideas for the making of Party guidelines and policies on national development to 2025 with a vision to 2030 and 2045, while helping improve quality of the draft documents submitted to the 13th National Party Congress.
public comments will be sent to the editing groups, who will seriously study the feedback to complete the documents.
Announcing, discussing and collecting people's opinions in the draft documents to the 13th National Party Congress aim to promote the intelligence and mastery of the people to contribute to the Party in making plans, policies and decisions of the country
