Ho Chi Minh ideology: Vietnam’s priceless treasure
11/5/15
President
Ho Chi Minh’s ideology is an invaluable treasure of the Party and nation,
enlightening the path of the Vietnamese people’s successful revolution,
reiterated Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications
and Education Dinh The Huynh.
He made the assessment during a
national conference in Hanoi
on May 8, which highlighted the humanistic and progressive values of the
President’s ideology.
The Party defines the ideology, which
was formed and developed during the revolution, as a comprehensive system of
in-depth ideas on essential matters of Vietnam’s revolution.
The ideology is a creative
application and promotion of Marxism-Leninism to the country’s specific
situation in close combination with national culture, he stated.
He argued that despite the rapidly
changing domestic and global context, the vitality and relevancy of the
ideology remain unchanged, especially the ideas regarding the liberation of the
nation and people, building a transparent and strong Party as well as a State
of the people, by the people and for the people.
He underlined that the utmost goal of
Ho Chi Minh humanism is complete liberation of the people, making them the true
owners of their nations and the world.
The humanity of the Ho Chi Minh
ideology is shown in his leadership of the revolution for national independence
and personal freedom, prosperity and happiness, as well as the late leader’s
thoughts on building socialism and the struggle to solve conflicts between the
good and the bad, the backward old and the progressive new in each development
period of the country, said Huynh.
During the event, participants
clarified major points in President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology containing
humanistic and progressive values. They also pointed out the significance of
his thought to the revolution in Vietnam.
They agreed that the values are the
foundation for the Party to build its policies for socio-politics, economics,
cultural and foreign relations development, aiming to build a people-centred
nation in the era of integration.

There are some people both in Vietnam and overseas who intentionally or mistakenly side with people of prejudiced and extreme views to distort and oppose to the trend of development of the country. They have tried to use different ways to deny Marxist-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought.
They have also tried to take advantages of the media, both traditional and modern ones, to fiercely sabotage the current political regime in Vietnam. They regarded Marxist-Leninism only valuable in the period from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century and at present it is inappropriate. They want to “remove Ho Chi Minh Idol from his post”.
Together with the denial of Marxist-Leninism, they have tried to use different ways to deny Ho Chi Minh Thought. In essence, they want to “remove Ho Chi Minh Idol from his post”; intentionally regard Ho Chi Minh Thought as opposite or of the same fate with Marxist-Leninism and not create the driving force for the development of the nation.
Not only the quintessence of the good of the Vietnamese national culture, but in essence, Ho Chi Minh Ideology is also the doctrine of development.
Though being in right determination and of great glory, the path to move forward of the Vietnamese revolution was uneven. This is the struggle against the old and damaged things in order to build fresh ones requiring everybody to unite as a steadfast block for the goal of the socialism.
The solidarity based on the right awareness of objectivity, the unity of ideology to find out and subject to the truth which is beneficial for the Fatherland, the people, the progress, the well off, free and forever happy life of the people.
Ho Chi Minh had always been imbued with basic principles of Marxist-Leninism, simultaneously absorbed the quintessence of national and international cultures to diversify and heighten Marxist-Leninism to a new level.
As a matter of fact, our Party’s regarding of Marxist-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought as ideological foundation and a compass for action is the in creative and dialectical constancy of development.
The way of development in Vietnam does not mean ideological pluralism. The level of democracy depends on the nature of the political regime, on the capacity, quality and ability of the political ruling party, and intellectual standard of the people, but not on the quantity of parties and flows of ideology and theory.
As a matter of fact, they want to have different ideology and theory from Marxist-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Ideology. But what kind of the theories? There will never be an ideology or theory capable of bringing our nation toward the goal: “a wealthy people, a powerful country, and a democratic, equitable and civilized society” as the one of Marxist-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh.
Ho Chi Minh has been admired by not only Vietnames people, but also the whole world, especially those who love peace
