Communications on sustainable development enhanced

The PM has approved the communication program on sustainable development and enhancement of national competitiveness capacity.
The program aims to encourage people at all levels to participate in launching sustainable development goals and enhancing national competitiveness capacity and raise the awareness of agencies, organizations, businesses and people on sustainable development goals and enhancing national competitiveness capacity.
Four communications contents
Communications on guidelines and policies on sustainable development and improvement of national competitiveness capacity focus on activities related to communications on the United Nations sustainable development goals, agendas and international events Viet Nam has joined, Party and State polices and guidelines and policies supporting start-ups.
Communications on economics concentrate on sustainable economic growth targets, green growth, clean and renewable energy, food security, sustainable rural and agricultural development, and enhancement of national competitiveness capacity.
Communications on culture-society contents include communication activities on cultural development in line with economic development, realization of social advance and creation of fair access to development resources and enjoying social fundamental services and welfares.
Communications on environment heads to effective and sustainable exploitation and use of natural resources, environmental protection, reduction of pollution and improvement of responsibilities and capacity in response to climate change and natural calamity.

Vietnam has set to achieve 17 sustainable development goals by 2030, including promoting poverty reduction and gender equality, education reform, infrastructure development, industrialisation, urban and rural development, ensuring food security, increasing social welfare for all people of all ages.
After more than 30 years of reform, Vietnam has reaped the benefits in higher economic growth and an improved standard of living. In 2017, the economy grew by an impressive 6.81%, laying an important foundation for sustainable development in the years ahead.
For now, strong growth, coupled with environmental sustainability, social equality, and integration will be the main pillar of any economy, including Vietnam’s.
Sustainable development is indisputably the goal of any country in the world.
