President attends Russia’s victory parade in Moscow

Russian soldiers march during the Victory Parade marking the 70th anniversary of the defeat of the Nazis in World War II, in Red Square in Moscow, Russia on Saturday

State President Truong Tan Sang joined leaders of various countries and international organisations in the largest victory parade in Russia ’s history on May 9 at Red Square , Moscow to celebrate the 70 th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Participants paid a minute’s silence in memory of fallen soldiers from the former Soviet Union and the allies.

More than 16,500 troops, including those from Azerbaijan , Armenia , Belarus , Kazakhstan , Kyrgyzstan , Tajikistan , Serbia , China , India and Mongolia , joined the parade.

Cutting-edge military equipment including the next-generation Armata T-14 tank and nuclear missile systems rumbled through the square along with the famed war-era T-34 tank.-VNA
