Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh has assured that the Party and State always remember the dedication of national contributors and have created the most favourable conditions for them. |
The Government official made the affirmation at a reception in Hanoi on May 18 for the delegation of 50 revolutionary contributors from Tam Ky City, Quang Ngai province.
He informed the guests with pleasure that a number of policies have been settled and efforts have been made to mobilise all available resources to care for and support national contributors.
Recalling Quang Nam-based exemplary figures who devoted their lives for the motherland, including martyr Nguyen Van Troi and Vietnamese heroic mother Nguyen Thi Thu, Deputy PM Binh expressed his hope that the delegates would promote the revolutionary tradition and establish themselves as shining examples for younger generations to follow.
He also praised the authorities of Tam Ky city in caring for the national contributors, asking them to mobilise more support from the entire society, benefactors and organisation to better this work.
Tam Ky city is now home to more than 8,000 national revolutionary contributors, including 3,400 martyrs, 800 Vietnamese heroic mothers and 1,200 war veterans, among others.
The city authorities have rallied efforts to care for the contributors. Since 2013, more than 1,000 houses have been built or renovated for the national contributors with a total investment of around VND 27.85 billion (US$1.22 million). As many as 51 social houses have also been constructed at a cost of more than VND 2 billion (US$88,000) to provide homes for them.
