Over 3 million children assisted in 25 years

Over the past 25 years, the National Fund for
Vietnamese Children (NFVC) has played its role as a bridge linking communities,
society and international organizations with children, especially those living
in disadvantaged circumstances.
Accordingly,
it has mobilized over VND5 trillion and hundreds of tons of goods to assist
over 30 million children; carried out a wide range of practical programs
supporting children, notably a program helping over 17,000 suffering from
congenital heart diseases, using hundreds of billions of VND.
The figures were released during a
ceremony to mark the 25th year of the fund's establishment (May 4th) in
Hanoi.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice State
President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh appreciated the achievements that the fund has
gained over the past 25 years, suggesting that the organization should increase
the dissemination of practical programs among communities and sponsors.
“I believe that the fund will
continue to be a trusted destination linking humanitarian hearts, in order to
mobilize domestic and foreign resources, assisting the Party, State and people
to well realise social welfare policies, better protecting, educating and
caring for children, ensuring child rights and increasing quality of life for
children,” she said.
Six collectives and individuals who
made excellent achievements in caring for and protecting children in the
2012-2016 period were honoured during the ceremony by receiving the Prime
Minister’s certificates of merit.
The ceremony witnessed the
commitment of VND10.5 billion to the NFVC from the Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint
Stock Company./.
