Messages of international congratulations sent to Vietnamese Party

International party leaders have sent their congratulations to Party General Secretary and State President Nguyễn Phú Trọng on his re-election as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam.

Lao Party General Secretary and Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, and State President Bounnhang Vorachith said Trọng’s re-election as the Party General Secretary during the 13th National Party Congress demonstrates appreciation and trust of the whole Party, army and people in the Party chief’s outstanding role and leadership experience.

The Lao leader expressed his belief that under the sound leadership of the CPV headed by Trọng, Vietnamese people would reap more achievements in realising the Resolution adopted at the 13th National Party Congress, turning Việt Nam into a modernity-oriented industrial country.

In his message, President Bounnhang Vorachith shared the Lao Party General Secretary and PM’s view, saying achievements by Party General Secretary and State President Trọng have significantly contributed to elevating Việt Nam’s role and position in the regional and international arena.

Under the sound leadership of the CPV and the Vietnamese State, along with Trọng’s experience, Vietnamese people will benefit in national construction, defence and development, the message says.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President Xi Jinping has also sent a congratulatory message.

The message says Xi is glad to hear that Trọng has been elected as the General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee, and would like to extend warm congratulations to him, and through him to the new leadership of the CPV, on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and in his own name.

Since its 12th National Congress, the CPV, under the strong leadership of the CPV Central Committee headed by Trọng, has strengthened party building and led the Vietnamese people to many achievements in the cause of socialism construction and reform, it says, adding that the successful organisation of the 13th National Congress of the CPV has started a new journey in Việt Nam's socialist modernisation.

Xi believes that under the leadership of the new CPV Central Committee headed by Trọng, new, greater achievements will be made in the various causes of the CPV and Viêt Nam.

Xi attaches great importance to relations between the two Parties and two countries, and stands ready to work with Trọng to enhance strategic communication, promote traditional friendship, deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and promote the cause of socialism, the message says.

By doing so, they will jointly steer the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership along the path of healthy and stable development, bring more benefits to the people of both countries, and make positive contributions to promoting regional and global peace, development and win-win cooperation.

Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and President of the Cambodian People's Party and Prime Minister Hun Sen have extended their congratulations to Trọng.

The King believes that under the sound leadership of Party General Secretary and State President Trọng, Việt Nam will gain greater achievements, grow strongly and advance in many spheres, and continue to hold an important role and position in the region and the world at large.

He hopes Việt Nam and Cambodia will have closer ties and maintain peace, stability, cooperation and development.

The King wished the Vietnamese top leader good health and more attainments while serving the nation and people.

In his message, Hun Sen said Trọng’s re-election mirrored the trust of the CPV Party and the people of Việt Nam in his capacity and leadership in socio-economic development, as well as maintaining peace, stability and prosperity in Việt Nam.

Hun Sen expressed his firm belief that under Trong’s leadership, the CPV would successfully implement guidelines, policies and targets set by the 13th National Party Congress.

General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) Kim Jong-un on the same day sent a message of congratulations.

Kim congratulated the CPV on the successful organisation of its 13th National Congress and Trọng on his re-election as the Party General Secretary.

Kim affirmed that the re-election of Trọng as the Party chief demonstrated the confidence and aspiration of the CPV leadership, Party members and the people of Việt Nam in the Party General Secretary as well as his contributions to the construction and development cause of the Party and the State.
