More information about the court on Doan Thi Huong

Vice Spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Phuong Tra provided further information about the situations and developments pertaining to the court for Vietnamese suspect Doan Thi Huong in the murder of Kim Jong-nam in Kuala Lumpur at a regular press conference in Ha Noi on August 23. 
According to the updated news from the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia, at the court on August 16, after considering the arguments of defense lawyers and representatives of the prosecutors, Shah Alam High Court in Kuala Lumpur announced that judge rules there is enough evidence for trial to proceed and demanded suspects to themselves defend against these allegations. 
Suspect Doan Thi Huong will have to herself defend at court from January 7-10, 2019, January 28-31, 2019 and February 18-19, 2019. 
Representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy attended the court, cared and encouraged Huong and in the time ahead, the Embassy will continue joining hand with lawyers to support Huong in the next litigation and advocacy sessions to protect legitimate rights for her. 
If family of Doan Thi Huong wishes to travel to Malaysia, based on comments of related lawyers, the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia will support her family in assisting Huong to join the court in line with current regulations of laws of Malaysia, Ms. Tra said.  
Siti Aisyah, from Indonesia, and Doan Thi Huong, from Viet Nam, are accused of orchestrating the murder of Kim Jong-nam in Kuala Lumpur airport in February 2017, by smearing toxic nerve agent VX on his face as he waited to board a flight to Macau. He died within 20 minutes, according to the guardian.com
