What is patriotism?
30/3/14
Through out history, Vietnamese people have known
for patriotism which help our country win two big powers like America and France in struggles to defend our
national sovereignty and independence. Now, wars have passed, but in face with
new chanllenges of the new era, more than ever young people have to show their
patriotism.
There are many young people think of something
really great for the new national patriotism, but, in fact, the signs of
patriotism can express through our individual actions and daily activities. Trying
to learn and work better, to help other difficult people or just throw rubbish
in right places that are patriotism. Selecting a suitable career for yourselves
, sticking and dedicated for works, it's patriotism. Doing your works in a
positive, enthusiastic attitude to contribute for your country’s development,
it is patriotism. Sometimes it is the little things like not littering, not
destructing environment, not harming animals. And even, saying a Vietnamese
sentence with correct gramma, expressing pride in the language and culture of your
people, that is expression of patriotism... Patriotism is not necessarily to
shout, screame out loud for everyone to know but that is self-discipline in
every movements and our activities.
However, there are young people with deviant awareness,
they just sit around complaining, grumbling to each other that why Vietnam
is a poor and backward country other than that, some pursues a pragmatic
lifestyle, with a depraved, wasted, arrogant and personal disorganization. These
people grant themselves the right to judge others, even the State and the Party
but without any responsibility to the community and society.
Especially, now there are few young people have
been dominated and agitated by the enemy forces, so that, they’ve often operated
contrary views and opinions against the Party and the State, incited and held demonstrations
and illegal activities that threaten public security and order.
Recently, on social networks there’s appeared some
young people like that Nguyen Phuong Uyen, Dinh Ngoc Uy, Truong Duy Nhat... and
their actions in name of patriotism. But the society has been condemned for
such actions. Their works have caused adverse impacts to the masses, especially
the younger generation. They will be punished appropriately by laws. Is it ways
to show patriotism or simply ways to polish their names to get benefits by any
cost, even losing yourself?
As a young man with a believed and enthusiastic heart, do not hesitate
to express your love for the country, be the first flag and volunteers on the
front line as we can. With young people who have lost their ways, I believe
that before the call of the times, sooner or later they will be aware of the
role and their obligations and will find the right way. At that time, the true
patriotism will support them, help them to overcome temptation and wrong doings,
and do more good for themselves and society./.

Yeah, Patriotism is not necessarily to shout and screame out loud for everyone to know but show by your actions of contributing to the development of the country.
It's so sad that many young people now are being fooled by hostile forces to speak out many false things which they don't recognize have brought damages to national interests.
Be a patriot, be aware of reactionary plots!
We should launch more movements help the youth have many conditions to understand about the country's heroic history, to remind them of our nation's tradition and enrich their patriotism.
I think Nguyen Phuong Uyen, Dinh Nhat Uy, Nguyen Tien Trung and many others need to see the realities in Vietnam, we have a developing economy and a stable politics, people live a happy and security life, we don't need you to fight for our interests, thanks!
They have done many things to undermine our State and caused damages to the national interests and called themselves patriots, so hilarious!
I don't know if they have lost their ways or they've just pursued their benefits.
Put their interests above the national interests, how patriotic they are! Hope they are just insignificant minority.
So ashamed that our country has given birth to the youth like that. In wars, we had seen many heroes who were ready to sacrifice themselves for the country, they are truly symbol of patriotism.
I still believe that the youth will be an important force to develop our country in the future.
