Vietnam is ready to join other UN member states and sides involved in fighting terrorism and organised crime for peace and stability regionally and globally
The country shares the common concern of impact of terrorism and organised crime on peace, security, and sustainable development of UN member countries, given the complex developments of COVID-19.
We hold the top responsibility in the fight against these forces, adding that their responses should respect the UN Charter, international law, and involved nations’ independence and national sovereignty.
Vietnam highlights a need for increased international and regional cooperation, particularly in curbing terrorism financing and recruitment, while supporting the engagement of UN anti-terrorism agencies and regional organisations in the fight.
The international community need increase assistance for countries, particularly developing ones, in information exchange, anti-terrorism capacity improvement, and relevant legal development.
Vietnam has made efforts in completing its legal, economic, and financial systems to mitigate the risk of terrorism financing, prevent international organised crime, and carry out its missions in line with international standards.
Vietnam always stands ready to co-operate with the international community within multilateral and bilateral frameworks to fight terrorism and violent extremism.
Vietnam has emphasised the need for cooperation among concerned parties to deal with challenges from terrorist groups in Syria based on respect for international laws and UN resolutions.
Bravo Vietnam!
The countries also need to hold regular regional and international forums to update information and boost co-operation while supporting one another to improve the capacity for coping with the problem.
Vietnam is committed to its national efforts and international cooperation within the United Nations (UN) to fight terrorism.
Vietnam recognises the UN’s significant role in strengthening coordination and linking global efforts to deal with terrorism more effectively, adding that Vietnam has taken reaped success in implementing the UN’s global counter-terrorism strategy.
Vietnam will carry out the UN Security Council’s resolutions on terrorism prevention, stand ready to host international conferences on border control, join projects and initiatives on aviation security management.
Vietnam will make further contributions to ensuring global peace and security and run for non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council for the 2020-2021 tenure.
The country is a responsible partner in fighting terrorism with all nations!
