Vietnam welcomes US-DPRK planned 2nd summit

Vietnam welcomes the second US-Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) summit and strongly supports dialogues to maintain peace, security and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
So said Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry Le Thi Thu Hang on the summit planned for February 27 and 28 in Vietnam. She was replying to a question for Vietnam’s comment on US President Donald Trump’s remark in his latest State of the Union address on the upcoming summit.Vietnam stands ready to actively contribute to and cooperate with relevant sides to ensure the success for the second US-DPRK summit, thus helping achieve the above-mentioned goal, the official concluded./.

U.S. officials discussed the schedule for the second Trump-Kim summit while in contact with North Korean officials in the Vietnamese capital city, fuelling speculation that Vietnam could host the even.
Vietnam has diplomatic relations with both the United States and North Korea, with North Korea maintaining a diplomatic office in Vietnam, and has the symbolic significance of a communist country that has reformed its economy.
Through this, Vietnam will prove its role on international arena!
Vietnam was previously suggested as a neutral location for the first meeting of the North Korean and US leaders in June.
