Vietnam strongly condemns shooting attacks in New Zealand

Vietnam strongly condemns the terrorist attacks on March 15 that caused great fatalities to innocent civilians in the New Zealand city of Christchurch, spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry Le Thi Thu Hang said the same day.

Responding to reporters’ questions on Vietnam’s reaction to the shooting attacks, Hang said Vietnam extends the deepest condolences to the New Zealand Government, the victims and their families.

The spokesperson stressed that Vietnam believes the Government and people of New Zealand, with their firm will and resolve, will soon overcome the loss, and the instigators of the attacks will receive their due punishment.

An attacker armed with semi-automatic weapons rampaged through two mosques in the Christchurch on March 15, killing 49 worshippers and wounding dozens more.
