At the meetings, the Deputy PM introduced Vietnam’s prominent socio-economic achievements in 2017 while stressing the determination to finalize the market economy institution, restructure the economy and commitment of the Vietnamese Government to continue to improve the business environment and competitive capacity.
He affirmed the Government always creates opportunities for international enterprises to invest and do long-term business in Vietnam as well as to further participate in economic restructuring in combination with growth model renovation. He also hoped the groups would actively support and respond to the WEF ASEAN conference, scheduled for September 2018 in Hanoi.
Senior Vice President of Google Kent Walker confirmed the continuing collaboration in information and technology training, e-commerce, the removal of bad news on Google, and considering the establishment of a number of R&D facilities in Vietnam.
HSBC emphasized that Vietnam is an important market of the group, while confirming long-term business in Vietnam. Meanwhile, SK said it had established a small and medium enterprise fund, wishing to join the privatization process of State-owned enterprises through investment and technology transfer.
Carlsberg expressed its expectation of increasing investment in Vietnam’s beverage market and participating in the privatization of wine, beer and beverage enterprises.
Marsh&McLennan wished to expand investment in Vietnam’s insurance market, cooperate in risk management and enterprise administration, while BAE systems is interested in cooperation in network security and patrol building./.
