Vietnamese delegation led by Ambassador Duong Chi Dung attends the event 
During the four-week talks in Geneva, deputies will discuss and exchange views over various issues, including the protection of children in armed conflicts, providing rights to people with physical disabilities, fighting racism and racial discrimination.
Secretary-General of the United Nations Mr. Antonio Guterres made remarks during the opening of the session and welcomed achievements that mankind has made since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was issued 70 years ago.
He stressed that the international community should make more efforts to tackle challenges facing human rights, while strengthening cooperation in implementing global commitments, especially the Agenda 2030 on sustainable development.
Vietnamese Ambassador Duong Chi Dung, head of the Vietnamese permanent mission to the UN, the WTO and other international organisations in Geneva, will deliver presentations and join discussions on a number of issues during the session, and contribute to the negotiation process to build documents of the UN Human Rights Council.
The UN Human Rights Council is a UN system inter-governmental body responsible for strengthening the promotion and rights around the world. Its 47 seats are filled by member states elected for three-year terms.
The 37th session will conclude on March 23rd./.
