The world comments on Vietnam’s hosting DPRK-USA Summit

Vietnam has carried out a host of measures to ensure security and safety and logistics for the second DPRK-USA Summit’s success. The country's efforts have been acknowledged by the international community.

Vietnamese leaders agree that the DPRK-USA summit in Hanoi will be the most important political event in Vietnam this year. The Prime Minister has closely guided preparations and collaboration among ministries, sectors, and localities. At preparatory meetings, he underscored the need to improve service quality and guarantee absolute security and safety for the summit to boost Vietnam’s prestige internationally.
In less than two weeks, all necessary activities were carried out systematically. Ministries and sectors have assigned responsibility for resolving any arising issue.
Some units have mobilized their full staff to stand by around the clock to carry out reception, logistics, and communication duties. All activities have reflected Vietnam’s sense of responsibility for supporting world peace and promoting a positive image of Vietnam and its people.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung said “Vietnam wants to contribute to the peace process and the resolution of international disputes by peaceful measures and dialogues. Vietnam intends to raise its profile and that of ASEAN in world issues.”

Reuters covered the summit arrangements in Hanoi, including extra flowers and ornaments along Hanoi’s tree-lined streets. People in Hanoi have welcomed the summit with T-shirts printed with images of President Trump and Chairman Kim. Hotels are offering summit-themed dishes.
Song Gumhan, reporter of the Korean Broadcasting System of the RoK told VOV that Vietnam has paid special attention to security for the summit. Vietnam is a good country to host the summit, he said.

Japanese Sankei website said that with its unbiased stand, the hosting of the summit by Vietnam has affirmed that the country wishes to contribute to peace and stability of the world.
