Hundreds of youths respond to a blood donation campaign
Members of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneur Association have raised more than VND5 billion, which will be used to manufacture quick test kits for detecting the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19), announced the association on March 13.

The move is among the activities hosted by the association in response to the 2020 Youth Month programme, which falls in March each year.

Recently, the association provided more 6,000 than free water containers and water bottles, worth nearly VND260 million in total, to residents of Ben Tre Province whose lives are being affected by drought and saltwater intrusion.

Hanoi City Youth Union has revealed the organisation of a live TV programme on March 17 to recall historical milestones in the history and development of Hanoi city’s Party Committee.

Over the past few days, youth union members in Phu Tho Province have held various activities to celebrate 89th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931-2020).

Accordingly, nearly 250 youngsters joined a blood donation campaign to help ease blood shortages at the provincial hospital.

Local youth has also joined hands to collect trash and launched communication campaign in Yen Ky Commune, Ha Hoa District, to raise public awareness of preventive measures against COVID-19.

The provincial youth union handed out 150 face masks and 200 hand sanitisers free of charge, along with leaflets on COVID-19 for local residents.

Meanwhile in Ca Mau Province, nearly 200 blood units were recently donated by young volunteers in Phu Tan District. The local youth union also presented face masks and 46 scholarships, totalling VND23 million, to poor students with high academic results at Tan Duc High School in Tan Duc Commune, Dam Doi District.
