Solidarity - from the revolution to the present
To celebrate the 13th National Party Congress (from January 25 to February 2, 2021) and 91 years of the establishment of the Communist Party of Việt Nam (March 2 1930 - 2021), the Hỏa Lò Prison Relic Management Board is hosting an exhibition called The Solidarity Song.
The Solidarity Song was the song that Uncle Hồ let everyone sing before he left meetings. It dated back to 1943 and was originally taken from China’s Solidarity is Power song and translated into Vietnamese.
The exhibition is divided into two main sections, one called 'The imprint in the countryside' and 'Under our proud Party’s flag'. The former shows profiles of prisoners who were devoted to the mission and vision of the Party.
These soldiers were resolute to believe in and follow the path of the revolution, willing to sacrifice themselves to bravely fight for Việt Nam’s independence and freedom. Despite the hardship, prisoners at Hỏa Lò and other prisons were still united, creating a tight-knit community in the most difficult conditions.
Tiles of each notable prisoner profile are presented, with visual accounts in their memoirs or quotes from interviews attesting to the monstrosity of the pre-independence period and their hardship and determination. Some moved on to highly regarded positions like Senior Lieutenant General or Party General Secretary.
Touching stories like that of Nguyễn Tài Khoái were presented. Khoái, the son of famous writer Nguyễn Công Hoan, wanted to become a painter, but before becoming an artist, he joined the revolution.
The second part 'Under our proud Party’s flag' mainly focuses on achievements of the Communist Party of Việt Nam to help develop the country to where it is today. President Hồ Chí Minh insisted on the people’s solidarity as an important tradition to preserve. Each Party Congress marks the unity of the Government and its people, and how solidarity has helped the nation progress.
The exhibition includes documents and artefacts reminding of past Party Congresses. The exhibition is open at Hỏa Lò Prison Relic in downtown Hà Nội./.

President Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party of Vietnam tried to achieve the lofty goal of building a nation of people who are always ready to make sacrifice for independence and freedom and a revolutionary Party with benefits of “happiness, prosperity and peace for the people”.
One of the most glorious traditions is the spirit of national solidarity that has created miraculous power for the country.
From the first days of its establishment, the Party has always been deeply aware of and affirmed the importance of the spirit of great national unity.
It is not only a strategic way and a source of power but also a driving force and a decisive factor for the victories in all historical periods.
The very humanistic thought is the foundation for Ho Chi Minh develops his thought on great solidarity.
Great solidarity is to be built on the humanistic basis is the solidarity oriented to build a social life where the dignity of man is respected, a life without oppression, exploitation and discrimination.
President Ho Chi Minh said: “Solidarity, solidarity, great solidarity; success, success, great success.”, continuing to affirm the important and indispensable strength of broad and close solidarity during the process of national construction and defence.
Ho Chi Minh's thought on solidarity serves as the basis to unite all the Vietnamese together in the fight to regain independence for the nation, bring freedom to all Vietnamese and open opportunities for all people to pursuit happy life.
Ho Chi Minh thought on solidarity is deeply humanistic. His very thought on solidarity constitutes the foundation and great strength contributing importantly to all successes of the Revolution Cause of Vietnam.
The Vietnamese Party and Sate have issued many important resolutions, directives and policies on great national unity, the ethnic work, religion and Overseas Vietnamese abroad.
Great solidarity always acts as the main driving force in the cause of struggle for
national liberation and national unification as well as in the cause of building a Vietnam with “wealthy people, strong country, democratic, just and civilized society”.
The core of the great national solidarity is the alliance between workers and peasants, which are the main forces to consolidate and gather all social classes and strata, all ethnic groups, all religions and different political parties for the goal of national liberation from the regime of foreign invaders.
The very humanistic thought is the foundation for Ho Chi Minh develops his thought on
great solidarity.
It is crucial to tighten and expand the linkage between the Party committees and administrations and people to understand the people better.
In the new situation of the country, more than ever, the whole political system and people from all strata need to uphold the responsibility, make efforts, resolutely fight against the bad side, and be willing to share the country’s hardship while striving to build the great national unity bloc and join hands to overcome all difficulties and challenges.
Great solidarity, which is to be built on the humanistic basis, is the solidarity oriented to build a social life where the dignity of man is respected, a life without
oppression, exploitation and discrimination.
Revolution is the common cause of the entire nation, all the Vietnamese people regardless of race, religion and beliefs.
The people’s confidence in the leadership of the Party and State will be strengthened, aiming to record even more new achievements in the building of a prosperous and developed country.
Thanks to solidarity that the people of Vietnam have won over colonialism, carried out successfully the August Revolution and brought the Resistance War to victory. It is thanks to the great entire people solidarity that our Vietnam will definitely be united.
The goal of building and developing a socialist republic in Vietnam not only consists in creating a foundation for a wide solidarity of all strata of the
people of Vietnam but also serves as a driving force encouraging all the people to
participate and contribute to the national cause of development in order to achieve the noble goal of “the rich people, the strong country, the democratic, just, civilized society”.
