Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has recently signed Directive No. 36/CT-TTg to strengthen measures to protect and take care of children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under the Directive, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs (MOLISA) has to work with other ministries and agencies to put forth solutions to protect and take care of orphans in general and orphans caused by the pandemic.
The ministry is responsible for developing a program to overcome metal and social impacts of the pandemic on children in order to ensure holistic development of children.
It is tasked to further information dissemination to promote the role of the society and residential community in protection of and care for children.
The ministry is also required to regularly report the outcomes of the implementation of the Directive to the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health is tasked to update instructions on COVID-19 prevention and control, and accelerate vaccine rollout for children.
The Ministry of Education and Training bears the responsibility for ensuring education quality, and issuing guidelines for schools and families to coordinate in online learning.
The Ministry of Information and Communications is responsible for effectively implementing the program “Internet connection and computers for students”.
The provincial and municipal People’s Committees are tasked to ensure safe and effective vaccination for children.
