Vietnam reports no new COVID-19 cases in community for 16 days

Vietnam recorded no new COVID-19 cases in the
community over the past 16 consecutive days, the National Steering Committee
for COVID-19 Prevention
and Control said on May 2 morning.
Among the total 270 infections, 219 have recovered, and there are still no
deaths.
Fifty-one other patients are being treated at hospitals and medical facilities,
including 16 tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 once or
twice.
On May 1, two patients including a 52-year-old Brazilian man and a 25-year-old
British man who had previously been given the all-clear tested positive again,
according to the Health Department of Ho Chi Minh City.
To date, 30,517 people having close contact with patients or entering
from pandemic-hit
areas have been quarantined at hospital, medical centres and
home./.

A proof: Tourist attractions around Vietnam have begun re-opening their doors after “hibernating” during the COVID-19 outbreak and hope to fully tap into the opportunities brought by the four-day National Reunification Day and International Labour Day holiday from April 30 to May 3.
Businesses, hotels, restaurants, cafés, golf courses, and travel agents are allowed to resume operations, while public passenger vehicles are requested to carry half the number of regular passengers per trip and beaches have been asked to monitor any crowding.

The Vietnamese people, including many Vietnamese alumni who had studied in Russia, have eagerly responded to the campaign calling for support to the Russian people to overcome the difficult time.
The world community has praised professional and effective response measures taken by Vietnam in the fight against the epidemic.
However, groups of tourists are not allowed to exceed ten people and must abide by measures of epidemic prevention and social distancing regulations.
The Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRCS) on April 29 handed over face masks and other medical supplies to help the US people cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Organisations and businesses nationwide have provided financial assistance for Vietnam’s fight against the acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19).
The donations are a very small number compared to what is needed in the US, but there is so much love behind every one of those masks. The gifts show the solidarity and friendship between the Vietnamese people and their US counterparts.
Even the US - "A dream land", also praises the Vietnamese Government for successfully responding to COVID-19 with a spirit of initiative, cooperation and transparency, adding that Vietnamese people have joined hands with their high determination to contain the disease.
