Exposing Viet Tan's wicked nature and filthy crimes

21/9/17

The murder of overseas Vietnamese journalist Nguyen Dam Phong in 1982 in US has recently been re-opened and re-investigated.
Five journalists were killed in a string of murders in the 1980s, 1990s. They were Nguyen Dam Phong, Le Thuyet, Hoai Diep Tu, Duong Trong Lam and Do Trong Nhan. These journalists were assassinated because of the same reason: their works aimed to unmask the self-proclaimed Vietnam Reform Party (Viet Tan).
Several decades has passed since the crime took place, the truth behind these assassinations had been in silence until recently, when one of the victims’ family member - Nguyen Thanh Tu - journalist Nguyen Dam Phong’s son, voiced up in March this year. Tu has been working hard on his search for the truth behind his father’s death. Part of his ultimate goal is to fulfill what Phong was doing, which is protecting the dignity of the Vietnamese community, washing away all the ‘dirts’ splashed onto the community by Viet Tan.
One of the recent moves made by Tu was his effort in holding a press conference in the Global Library (Fountain Valley, California) in March, in which he made allegation of the Viet Tan of the murder of his father. The conference, capturing attention from local press and media, aimed to increase public’s awareness on Tu’s journey to justice and call for coordination from the US government in the search for the hidden truth.
Dam Phong was well-known among the overseas Vietnamese in US for his sharp writing skills. In the early 1980s, he worked for the Freedom News (Houston, Texas). Being aware of Dam Phong’s credibility in the press field, Hoang Co Minh – head of Viet Tan, had invited Phong to a meeting of this group to publish articles promoting itself. However, during the meeting, Phong had discovered the lack of transparency in the way Viet Tan had been operated, since it was raising fund without any bookkeeping or accountant.
At the same time, Phong also got to know that what is called “ The Front’s Base” of Viet Tan in Thailand was a fake one, since everything was set up on purpose to disguise Viet Tan as a true revolutionary group to mobilize sponsorship from overseas Vietnamese.
As an experienced journalist, Phong quickly saw through the true identity of Viet Tan - the cheater. It is not any kind of political party, but a criminal gang, instead. He thus rejected Viet Tan’s request of cooperation.
Viet Tan did not give up on its plan. Various methods were used to pull Phong to Viet Tan's side. Despite being bribed and later threatened, the journalist kept sticking to his principle in work, which was full respect for the truth. Phong only published valid information from credible source.
Phong’s resolute rejection to Viet Tan had led to his murder by the “K9” (an affiliated group under Viet Tan) in August 1982.
Determined to shed some light on his father’s death, Tu has contacted the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for support on the murder case 35 years ago. CIA has provided Tu with a range of documents related to the case, including the color of the murderer’s car, the number of people who involved in the case, the name of the gunman, etc.

However, Tu said those people do not really matter nowadays, as they only murdered his dad following the command of their ‘boss’. Nowadays, all of these people have reached very old age, and Viet Tan is being run by their successors. Hence even if those involved in Dam Phong’s assassination are put into jail, the cheater named Viet Tan will remains intact. Tu therefore realizes the need to uncover the hidden truth and erase the presence of the group which stood behind the murder of his father and other journalists.
In addition to CIA, Tu also seeks supports from Congressmen in US in various Congress Hearing to request the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to revise the case. (However, according to the law of the US, the National Congress does not have the right to do it.) The information related to the activities of Viet Tan were also provided by the supportive overseas Vietnamese community in US, especially those who are victims of Viet Tan.
At the moment, Tu has collected enough evidences to come up with his outline of Viet Tan’s operation system, related individuals and groups, as well as their activities. Tu also expresses strong opposition to the RFA station and its staff, Trinh Hoi and VOICE and SBTN TV as a medium for Viet Tan to conduct sabotage activities.
According to Tu, thank to the support from CIA, he has got access to various emails proving the close relations between Hoang Tu Duy, Trinh Hoi and VOICE. Those emails are strong evidence to prove the relations between Trinh Hoi and Viet Tan. At the moment, Trinh Hoi is working for VOICE - as its CEO, attempting to align VOICE's activities in the direction of Viet Tan.
Regarding Trinh Hoi, Tu said “Trinh Hoi works for Viet Tan, wherever Viet Tan is, Trinh Hoi will be there”. Tu also stated that VOICE was actually founded by its spokesman Hoang Tu Duy in 2007, not in 1997. After founding VOICE, Hoang Tu Duy only needed to pay USD 50,000 for a house worth over USD 1 million, instead of paying USD 270,000 (excluding the amount borrowed from bank).
Tu also said, according to report from taxation authorities, VOICE has established something called LAVAS, under the sponsorship of a lawyer named Nguyen Quoc Lan in California to avoid paying tax. The trick was similar to what was practiced by Viet Tan to help Hoang Tu Duy avoid paying an amount of over USD 200,000 when purchasing residential property.
Despite various challenges, Tu has been persevere in seeking justice for his father. The man shows strong determination to keep a close watch on Viet Tan and its activities and do his best to unmask the deceiver./.

Need to bring Viet Tan to the public court for their crimes. They are a terrorist and a mafia gang.

Viet Tan must pay for what they have done. Related nations like the U.S. and Australia should cooperate with Vietnam to cope with this terrorist organization.
