27/2/14

On February 24, Ukraine issued an arrest warrant for the deposed President Viktor Yanukovych and opened a criminal investigation against him and other officials on charges of mass murder of peaceful civilians.
Arrest warrant given in the context whereabouts of Mr V. Yanukovych is still unknown exactly. Acting Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov said that Yanukovych was discovered at his home in Crimea on February 23 but a day after that  nobody knows his trace. A day earlier, an information released that he arrived in Khakiv, an eastern city of Ukraine as well as his political base. While another source said that he was preparing forces at home town of Donetsk for a counterattack.
However, the fate of the ousted president just does not seem as important as the situation that where Ukraine will go after the coup making Yanukovych and his administration collapsed. The call to an aid worth 35 billion dollars from the West to save this country from economic collapse of the interim Ukraine Government does not mean that this country leaning heavily on the Western countries. The caretaker President Alexandre Turchynov stressed that improving the economy and restoring the European integration process is one of the main tasks of this country. However, he also declared ready for dialogue with Russia on the basis of equality, neighborhood and he is considering the option of cooperation with the European Union (EU) of Ukraine.
The caretaker President Alexandre Turchynov declared the mission of new Government is to end conflict and restore security in the country, ensure peace, tranquility and not allow local conflicts and personal revenge to happen. However, the complicated situation in Ukraine at present does not make it out of concern about the risk of divisions and power struggles in the political arena.
As expected , Ukraine will hold presidential elections in May 25, 2014. But who will be able to lead the country Ukraine is now an open-ended question. Newly freed opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko declared that he does not want to run for the Prime Minister, a move thought to be aimed at more powerful chair that is president position.
Russia recalled its ambassador to the Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov for consultation on the Ukraine situation. Russian Foreign Ministry said the situation in Ukraine worsened so there should be a comprehensive analysis. Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized practical steps to stabilize the situation in Ukraine must assist in the national reconciliation. Any intermediate forms must be done with unconditional respect for the sovereignty of the Ukraine. Meanwhile, Russia's UN Ambassador Vitaly Churkin has condemned the Western countries’ efforts to intervene in chaos in Ukraine.
