On February 24, Ukraine issued an arrest warrant for the deposed President Viktor Yanukovych and opened a criminal investigation against him and other officials on charges of mass murder of peaceful civilians.

However, the complicated situation in Ukraine at present does not make it out of concern about the risk of divisions and power struggles in the political arena.
As expected , Ukraine will hold presidential elections in May 25, 2014. But who will be able to lead the country Ukraine is now an open-ended question. Newly freed opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko declared that he does not want to run for the Prime Minister, a move thought to be aimed at more powerful chair that is president position.
Russia recalled its ambassador to the Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov for consultation on the Ukraine situation. Russian Foreign Ministry said the situation in Ukraine worsened so there should be a comprehensive analysis. Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized practical steps to stabilize the situation in Ukraine must assist in the national reconciliation. Any intermediate forms must be done with unconditional respect for the sovereignty of the Ukraine.
