14/7/17
From 2007 to 2016, the central budget allocated
VND113.306 trillion as assistance for revolutionary contributors. In addition,
local budgets earmarked some VND2 trillion each year to support revolutionary
contributors, the Ministry of Labour, War-Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA)
has reported.
Over the past years, the implementation of policies
for revolutionary contributors has always received much attention from the
Party and State. So far, the country has identified over 9 million
revolutionary contributors, including nearly 1.2 million martyrs, over 127,000
Vietnamese heroic mothers, nearly 800,000 wounded soldiers and those enjoying
policies of wounded soldiers.
According to MOLISA Minister Dao Ngoc Dung, a
majority of revolutionary contributors and their relatives have fully and
promptly enjoyed preferential policies. The number of revolutionary
contributors recognized and receiving policies is increasing, while the regular
assistance has been adjusted.
Regarding remaining profiles requesting recognition
as revolutionary contributors, Minister Dung said that MOLISA would focus on
addressing the profiles by the end of 2017.
During a press conference marking the 70th anniversary
of the Day for Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs (July 27th), Minister
Dung said that policies caring for revolutionary contributors who go abroad for
permanent residence would be issued in the near future.
He added that the ministry would propose policies
for the third generation born infected by toxic chemicals from their
grandparents, exposed while joining revolutionary activities./.
