Prime Minister urges to focus on measles prevention

On April 16, 2014, Prime Minister
Nguyen Tan Dung telegraphed for Ministry of all sectors and localities to focus
on measles prevention, proactively prevent disease from spreading, limit to the
minimum number of people infected and deaths from measle.
According to the telegram, the Prime
Minister asked the Ministry of Health on directing emergency treatment of
measles cases in health facilities in order to minimize the deaths, preventing
cross-infection in hospitals, especially the health facilities at the central
level are overloaded promptly extinguished measles. To supplement immediately
ventilator, medical equipment, emergency medicine to ensure treatment for
patients, biologicals required in the prevention of cross-hospital and
regulations for who working on prevention of measles. The Ministry of Health
continues to closely monitor the situation of measles in the country and
neighboring countries to timely take measures of measles preventing guidance,
early detection methods, treatment regimen for measles. To ensure adequate
measles vaccine for measles vaccination supplement.
Chairmans of the provinces and
cities directly under the Central Government in collaboration with the Ministry
of Health direct drastically the emergency aid, effective treatment of cases as
well as prevent the spread of infectious diseases in the community and in the
hospital. Simultaneously directing press agencies to regularly updated on the
situation and how to detect and prevent measles especially actively vaccinate
against measles and proactively detect early measles signs for timely treatment
and minimize cases of severe complications discovered lately. Ministry of
Finance must ensure sufficient funding to serve the measles extinguish by
Ministry of Health./.

The Ministry of Health must focus all the equipments and resources to control the measles outbreak and limit mortality especially in children .
We should not bring children to central hospitals to avoid cross- infection, the lower hospitals must support treating in order to reduce overload on the central children's hospital.
Everybody must raise awareness of disease prevention and personal hygiene, we should not go to crowded places to avoid spreading the disease.
All ministries and agencies must work together to quell the current measles epidemic, reducing the risk of disease spreading.
Ministry of Health urgently provide new treatment regimens for patients infected with measles, please do not let mortality happen again.
Epidemic problem has become non-traditional security problem threats to the stability and development of our country . Parallel to strengthening security in the country, we have to solve this social problem.
Ministry of Health must make effort to measure the effectiveness of the new control, eventually eradicate measles by 2017 .

Everybody should take the initiative to vaccinate children, the rate of vaccination risks are much lower than they have been infected.
It must be announced that epidemic of measles happenned in Vietnam for World Health Organization support.
