Vietnamese young generation in the process of international economic integration

Our beloved Uncle Ho had said "The country will be prosperous
or decadent, weak
or strong that depends very much on the youth" and
stressed that the position of young generation is very important to
the revolution and
the future of country. The Party and State always
believe in the youth, considering the youth "the current and
future owners of
the country". Therefore the youth has to strive
with the whole nation and complete successfully all tasks posed by the revolution.
At the moment, our country is
undergoing the process of promoting
international economic integration,
the process has brought and will bring our
country in general and the youth in
particular big opportunities
and challenges:
- The opportunities:
Firstly, on the
road to international economic integration,
Vietnam
has many opportunities to expand and access the international market of goods and services, and
a lot of conditions to export and import to outside of the country’s border.
Secondly, promoting
the integration process, our country
has equal status in
the international arena, and conditions to ensure the interests
of the country and the nation,
and also chances to accelerate effectively the reform process of the country.
Third, as
a member of the
WTO, the country’s business environment will be increasingly
improved.
Besides the
advantages, Vietnam is
facing big challenges:
Firstly, compared
with other countries in the region
and around the world, our country's level of development is lagging far behind,
so there must be
disadvantages in the process of competition
in the market.
Second, the competition
will be tougher
with many more
competitors. The competition will
take place in quality of products,
in management policies and strategies to mobilize resources and attract foreign
investment.
Third, the
deeper of the integration, the more depend on other countries.
The changes in other countries’ economy will have impact on out
country’s one. Therefore, we have to have good ability in forecast, analysis situation and respond accurately
to limit the negative
effects of external impact.
Facing this
situation, as the owners of the current
and future of the
country, the youth, accounting for nearly 30% of Vietnam's
population, is prolific force with strength, aspirations,
ambitions, demand and ability to quickly acquire achievements
of science and technology, modern
engineering and management
on the world; dynamic,
creative and proactive in learning
new things and advantages of the human being. So, along with the development of the country, the attitudes and
political consciousness of young people have a
positive change. The youth have been increasingly taking care and more responsible for the
problems of the homeland, country,
issues in the region and the world. They are now actively aware
of career, volunteer spirit, volunteering, sharing consciousness.
The youth has been active and more confident
in the process of international economic integration.
However, in
the process of international economic integration, the youth is facing a lot of difficulties and challenges, such as: knowledge of education,
professional qualifications, knowledge of economics, management, law and
awareness of abiding the law… that are generally low. The awareness of vocational
education, career, career
orientation have been still misleading; low-income
jobs are still
pressing problems in the youth. The physical
health of Vietnamese young people are much lower
than ones in other countries in the region and the world, besides
a lot of Vietnamese young people are
lazy to fulfill to perfect their personality, lacking in political awareness, cannot identify
goals in their lives...
Before the
advantages and disadvantages of
the country as well as our own, right now young people in Vietnam
must see clearly their position and role in the development of the country; be aware of the biggest difficulty in this
phase is the fierce competition
of intelligence to reach the heights of science,
engineering and technology
as well as management skills. To overcome this
difficulty, requiring young people
to self-learning, self-discipline to improve
knowledge in all aspects, especially
political awareness, the socialist ideal, striving for the
goal of a prosperous people, a
strong country and an equitable, democratic
and civilized society as active subjects, leading forces in the industrialization and modernization process and active integration into the international economy.
Being with the country to overcome the difficulties, right away each young person must make greater efforts, especially to broaden the understanding of the world situation to think and act more appropriately. This is not only the responsibility and obligation, but also the rights of the youth and the youth union to be with the country to achieve more success in the process of international economic integration. /.
