The United States is accused of creating the Islamic State by the UN

16/1/16

Less than two years before the devastating attacks in Paris, ISIS seemingly appeared out of nowhere, capturing large swathes of territory in war-torn Syria and rushing across the border into Iraq and taking over the second-largest city in the country, Mosul. Then came a flurry of videos showing Western journalists being beheaded by the group and stories of young people leaving their homes in the Middle East, Europe, and the United States to fight with the Islamic State.
What is the Islamic State? Who brought this terrorist group to the world?
The US’s invasion over Iraq in 2003 was a mistake, igniting the religious hatred and giving birth to the terrorist group IS. This is the statement of the Chairman of the seventieth session of the UN.
Speaking to the Russian news agency TASS, the Chairman of the seventieth session of the UN, Mr. Mogens Lyukketoft said: “We cannot deny the fact that the American invasion of Iraq in 2003 for many reasons and as President Barack Obama said was a mistake. And more dangerous that, the people who had made this decision absolutely didn’t have any idea about what they were confronting and didn’t know how to avoid consequences of the invasion – an increase in social conflicts. And this has been creating a fertile ground for the IS to appear and develop.
According to Mr. Lyukketoft, a solution is reached if having a more democratic and comprehensive society in Iraq, as well as an agreement to protect the interests of minorities. The Chairman of the UN General Assembly stressed that the bad precedent of Iraq must be taken in the process of finding the solution for Syria conflict. As the plan which was adopted by the UN Security Council in January 2015, Damacus and the opposite side are to negotiate and then to establish a transitional Government and reform the Constitution and election.
Recently, the Foreign Minister Lavrov also criticized the US harshly. In an interview with TV channel Zvezda, Mr. Lavrov said that the US’ faith of being the most supreme leader of the world is blocking the fight against the terrorists.
“The factor that cannot help to solve the problem is in the consciousness of American about their monopoly position as a super-powerful country. This is seen in the way they decided to fight against the terrorism both in depth and width, as well as staffing. They claimed to have ability to convince others. They set a coalition to solve the Syria problem basing on the American concept.” the Russia Foreign Minister said.
Regarding to Turkey’s actions in Iraq, Mr. Lavrov also said that the US are allowing Ankara to play a reckless game. “The arrogant approach of the US-led coalition has let Turkey to conduct reckless actions in the Iraq’s land”, he said.
In addition, Russia President Putin accused the US of playing “both sides” in the Middle East, sponsoring for terrorist groups.
“Playing on two sides has never been easy, announcing to fight against terrorism and used it to change the political chessboard of the Middle East”, Mr. Putin said.
In recent time, many Western countries have criticized Russia for aiming the air-strike campaign just at the anti-Government forces, not at the IS-related targets as Russia said.
Rejected the idea, President Putin said the Western countries are too short-sided, aiming too much at the Assad regime and forgeting the dangerous threat form the IS. “The so-called IS has controlled a large territory. Imagine that, if Damacus or Baghdad is in their hand, IS will become an official regime and expand their killing to the globe. If there anyone had thought about that?” Mr. Putin said.
The IS has carried out mass executions, abducted women and girls as sex slaves, and used child soldiers in what may amount to systematic war crimes that demand prosecution...
And the US and its coalition must take responsibility for giving birth to this terrorist group./.
