Vietnam’s aspiration and truth of the time highlighted

A scientific seminar on the thought: “Nothing is more precious
than independence and freedom”-Vietnam’s aspiration and truth of time will be
organized this mid-July in Hanoi.
Addressing the press conference held on June 30th by
the Ministry of National Defense made public the event, Major General Ho Ba
Vinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Training under the
General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, reviewed
developments of the Vietnamese revolution and the context of President Ho Chi
Minh’s famous statement: “Nothing is more precious than independence and
freedom.”
In early 1965, after the failure of the “special war” strategy,
the US imperialists shifted to a “localized warfare”. In summer that year, US
troops and the troops of their allies massively landed in Southern Vietnam
while intensively conducting the destructive war in Northern Vietnam with the
involvement of both American air and naval forces in an attempt to
bring the North of Vietnam back the stone age.
Facing such a situation, on July 17th, 1966,
President Ho Chi Minh, made an appeal over “The Voice of Vietnam”, calling on
the entire Vietnamese people to be determined to fight the American invaders.
The President said the war might last five, ten, twenty years or more; Hanoi,
Hai Phong and other cities and factories could be destroyed, the Vietnamese
people would never be scared because “Nothing is more precious than
independence and freedom”.
The President’s statement became the goal and source of
confidence to consolidate people’s will and determination to win foreign
invaders and to reconstruct and defend the country. Vietnam’s victory over
American imperialists also inspired other oppressed nations all over the world
to fight for peace, independence, democracy and social progress.
The organization of such a seminar is to give the entire people
from all walks of life a chance to express their respect for President Ho Chi
Minh and to further understand the value and great significance of the thought:
“Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom.”

Ho Chi Minh was the crystallisation of the best and most outstanding examples of wisdom and ideology, sentiment and morality, personality, lifestyle, humankind and the Vietnamese nation. He symbolised the nature of Vietnam’s modern cultural identity.
National independence in close association with socialism is considered to be a consistent point of view all through Ho Chi Minh’s ideology
Ho Chi Minh was a political genius, tricking everyone into believing his lies.
Using patriotism, nationalism, and the pretext of fighting for freedom, Ho Chi Minh demonized the Americans and defeated them in the war. It is true, Ho Chi Minh was an inspiring man.
History is written by the winners, in this case the Vietnamese.
These sentiments moved millions of hearts.
When studying his ideology, cause and actions, we realise that Ho Chi Minh, a creative Marxist ideologist and great humanist, is an exemplary modern communist of wisdom and intellect.
This feature of Ho Chi Minh’s ideological evolution gave food for thought to generations of revolutionaries who were identified, educated, fostered and led by him.
The more communists understand the nature of the working class, the closer they are bound to and loyal to their people and nation.
Thanks to this, national perception and compassion will converge and intertwine with genuine internationalism.
