Casting for the future of the country

Today, May 22 2016, nearly
69 millions Vietnamese voters have joined the election of deputies to the 14th
National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for the 2016-2021 tenure.
This is a major political
event, a central task of the entire Party, people and army, promoting the
patriotism of all-class of the people, raising the awareness about rights,
obligations and responsibilities of citizens in building and fulfilling the
Vietnamese lawful socialist State of the people, by the people and for the
people.
Casting the vote is to implement the holy right to choose ones who
represent people to lead the country and locality. Casting the vote is also to
choose the future that we want to.
After nearly 71 years of the victory of the August Revolution, each
election is a time for Vietnamese to affirm our right to decide the country’s
destiny by electing the most powerful agency of the country (the National
Assembly) and the people power’s agencies in localities (the all-level People’s Councils). Through their ballots, voters displayed the right to directly choose
the leadership
agencies, the implementation of direct democracy and State power of the people.
This is the first general election after the 2013 Constitution was adopted
and the success of the 12th National Party Congress. Reviewing the
development of the country in past 71 years, when joining the election,
Vietnamese put higher expectation for leaders of the country in the coming
time, put higher responsibility of all-level people’s agencies to do their utmost serving the country and people, lead
the country more developed in international integration progress, firmly
protecting the independence and sovereignty.
As regulated by law, citizens have a lot of rights and obligations, in
which related to election, citizens have three rights and also three
obligations. First, each citizen has to take care for themselves, for the
families to have better life. Second, citizen contribute to the comprehensive
development of the country, including the protecting the country. Third,
citizen cast ballots to elect leaders, to build up the country. Three rights
are sacred.
To build a happy family, parent must be responsible. To build up a country,
leaders must be passionate and talented to lead the country and locality. The
general election is an important event of the national and local politics
because it shows the people’s power in electing leaders of the country and
their localities.
The 2013 Constitution clearly affirms in Vietnam all powers belong to
people. The State is for people, by people and under the people’s supervision.
It takes 5 years to display this power, to elect the highest leadership agency
of the country and locality.
Casting the vote is to elect the representatives for the interests of each
citizen, each family, each locality and the country. People hope Vietnam will be
firmly developed, have better environment and able to compete with other
countries.
Joining the election of deputies to
the 14th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for the 2016-2021
tenure is for the future that we want. All Vietnamese voters from mountainous
to island areas, from rural to urban areas have joined the general election for
their own future, the future of their localities and the future of the
country./.
