Vietnam is a key partner of the Asia-Pacific Economic Forum

Nürnberg Commerce and Industry, Bavaria of Germany has held the 12th Asia-
Pacific Economic Forum with the participation of nearly 200 German businesses
and from the Asia-Pacific countries, including Vietnam as the main partner.
Forum was held on
July 23 at the Exhibition Center of Nürnberg. In the opening speech on the
theme “Identifying trends - Connecting Globally - Acting responsibly”, Vietnamese
Ambassador to Germany Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh stressed a series of meaningful
activities on the occasion of he 40th anniversary of the establishment of
diplomatic relations between Vietnam
and Germany
this year. Following the success of the Asian - Pacific Economic Forum of
German Business (APK) in Ho Chi Minh City in November 2014, Vietnam has been
chosen as the main partner of the Asia - Pacific Forum in Berlin and this time
in Bavaria in general, and Central City Nürnberg, Franken in particular.
According to ambassador
Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh, this trend not only shows comprehensive strategic
partnership between the two countries, but also affirm that Vietnam is a reliable market and
the ideal destination for investors as well as German firms. Ambassador Nguyen
Thi Hoang Anh also stressed the Government of Vietnam has strong measures to
improve the investment environment, local business and creates the legal
framework of transparency with investors and foreign enterprises, simplifies
administrative procedures, reduces paper documentation and resolution period of
business records. This issue is recognized and appreciated by the German
businesses at the Forum.
At a press
conference after the opening session, when answering questions about the status
of Vietnam in comparison with other countries in the region and what makes the
charm of Vietnam with German firms, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh and
representatives of German firms operating successfully in Vietnam stressed that
political stability; legal systems and administrative procedures increasingly
improved; young workforce, curiosity; Germany and Vietnam have established
strategic partnership framework since 2011; Agreement on the Trans-Pacific
partnership (TPP) is about to be signed and the ASEAN Economic Community will
be set up later this year as the main factors making Vietnam become the gateway
for the German intensive businesses enter more deeply into the huge market in
Asia-Pacific. Besides, another factor also makes a difference in comparison
with other countries in the region is over 100,000 people in Vietnam could speak
German and understand German culture, as well as about 125,000 Vietnamese are living
and working in Germany. This really is the bridge of friendship between the two
peoples and is also a factor helping German firms more successful in Vietnam.
Middle Franken and
Nurnberg capital have an important position in Germany
and Europe due to its location in the center
of the most developed region of this country Bavaria Germany, home to many
large and medium-sized corporations. With a population of 3.5 million people,
the whole area has about 150,000 registered enterprises and 50,000 people
operating independently, creating jobs for 1.7 million people. Gross domestic
product (GDP) at 100 billion euros, equivalent to the combined between Czech
and Singapore;
export ratio of over 45%. Supporting industrial sector for carmaker has 500
enterprises with leading technology, creating jobs for 85,000 workers. Field of
information technology has 20,000 businesses with 110,000 employees. The industrial
sector for health service has 500 enterprises with 120,000 workers. Automate
field contributes 20% to the total income of the whole of Germany, creating
jobs for 40,000 workers, while manufacturing industry created 85,000 jobs for
highly skilled labors.
