The honor of the nation
18/4/15
It was time we should ask ourselves that being Vietnamese what are we proud
of and ashamed of? Ignoring sad records of biggest and longest Tet cake, Chung
cake or upcoming TV tower… let’s once think of the honor of the nation.
Last week, there was an event that received much public attention, the
actress Maggie Q came to Vietnam
to call on everyone to change awareness of using rhino horn. As a global
goodwill ambassador of The Global Organization of Wildlife Protection
(WildAid), Maggie Q said she felt ashamed that Vietnam is one of two nation
(the other is China) that has been condemned by South Africa people for using
biggest amount of rhino horn, which have been deprived from their country.
The message of Maggie Q, the most successful Vietnamese in Hollywood, is “say no to rhino horn because
it has nothing to do with cancer or men’s strength on the bed”. The thing that
makes people pay attention is in the South Africa
people’s eyes Vietnam
is no different with terrorists, illegal wildlife traders. South Africa is an English-spoken
country that helps their messages spread quickly all over the world. Therefore,
who has Vietnamese nationality will be discriminated not only in developed
countries but also even in Africa countries.
Some days before, we also be shocked when Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)
warns Vietnam that it will
stop sponsoring if Vietnam
have any cases of corruption related to Japan-sponsored ODA projects. With the
honor of Vietnamese, we are all upset when corruption has been lingering
illness of the whole nation and Vietnam
is always in tops of most corrupt countries all over the world.
Few months ago, the book
name Proud of being Vietnamese has
been hot on the media and published 10.000 copies. The book gathers proud
thinking, feeling of prominent politicians, businesses, scholars about the
country. However, the book’s effect is now not much as expected, maybe people
are familiar with the use of old proud to cover existing problems in society.
Looking at sad records of
the country, even the most optimistic ones have to think of long movement to
restore the prouds of Vietnamese. Starting from small things in our life such
as lining up in public places, putting garbage into right place, obeying rules
when trafficking… This is followed by media campaign about behavior when being
aboard, so Vietnamese people will not have to feel embarrassed when seeing
thief-warning board written in Vietnamese in supermarkets in Japan, Thailand,
Singapore... or reading news about Vietnamese drugs and prostitute chains. And
also the civilized behavior on the social network…We have long way to go
Vietnamese people/.

Few countries have changed so much over such a short time as Vietnam.
I love Vietnam
Less than forty years since the savagery and slaughter of the American War, this resilient nation is buoyant with hope
Vietnam is a veritable phoenix arisen from the ashes
Astonishingly exotic and utterly compelling, Vietnam is a country of breathtaking natural beauty with an incredible heritage that quickly becomes addictive
We have a lot of things to do to get close to international community but we also have keep our dignity in the process of integration.
It's true that Vietnamese have a lot of bad habits and we're not going to get rid of those.
It's hard to change habits of a nation but for the future to come we have to do that
Vietnam is a good sample of innovation, I have strong believe that Vietnam will become one of the best country to come in the ASEAN region
We all love our country, we will do our best to build up Vietnam.
it can be denied that the leadership of Vietnam Communist Party has decided all success
So it's funny some reactionary elements is trying to remove the leadership of VCP.
