Who is ungrateful to the nation?

1/9/15
Vietnamese people from the cities to the countryside, as well at home and overseas, are enjoying the festive atmosphere of the coming National Day. Joy and happiness has even been multiplied in the revolutionary bases and safe zones as a large number of activities to show gratitude have been held for the local people. Nevertheless, some websites ignorantly claim that the Vietnam Communist Party is “ungrateful.”

New face of the “Capital” of the liberalized zone
Tan Trao commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province was called the Capital of the liberalized zone, where the Tan Trao National Congress issued a historic decision on the General Uprising across the country 70 years ago.
Elderly Nong Thi Mo, aged 91 of Tan Lap village, Tan Trao commune, was still moved when recalling the historic days. She said that she was one of the local people who cooked meals for revolutionary cadres during the congress.
“70 years ago, local people were very poor. Most of the local people did not have enough food to eat or clothes to wear. Life has dramatically changed since then. Now no household in the commune is considered poor. All local people have farms to cultivate crops, good homes to live in and modern facilities. Children are well educated at public schools. The local authorities take good care of the elderly and former revolutionaries like me,” the elderly woman of the Tay ethnic minority spoke about the changes in her home village over the past 70 years.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Tan Trao Commune People’s Committee Tran Duc Hanh said that Tan Trao was selected as one of the three communes across the country to receive  mobilized resources under the patron of State President Truong Tan Sang, for its implementation of the National Objective Program on building the new rural model.
“Thanks to the support from the State and nationwide localities, Tan Trao met all the objectives of the new rural model in 2014 and was the first commune in Tuyen Quang province to achieve the title “The new rural model,” he proudly said.
Other local people of ethnic minorities shared the same view. Tran Van Van in Tan Lap village, Tan Trao commune was happy to talk about his newly-built home. He said that his large concrete home cost VND 400 million, half of which came from the support of the State, businesses, social organizations and generous individuals. He also revealed that a number of local people from ethnic minorities were assisted in building good new homes. “The State also provides assistance for the local people to preserve their old wooden houses on stilts,” he added.
Phung Van Minh was another local person in Mo Che village, Tan Trao commune who built a new home 2 years ago. He joyfully said his family received VND 32 million of support under the Shanty Home Elimination Program from the local authorities.
“Thanks to the housing assistance and other support from the local authorities and organizations, we have managed to escape from poverty,” he said. His family now has a T.V., motorbike and other facilities.
Big changes in revolutionary zones
Not only Tan Trao but also other revolutionary zones across the country have enjoyed swift changes in recent years.
Hunger elimination and poverty reduction is a major policy of the Party and State of Vietnam. The policy has been issued and implemented by authorities at all levels since the first days of the independent state of Vietnam. This policy is advocated by Vietnamese people of all strata and agrees with the UN Millennium Development Goals. In the practice of implementing hunger elimination and poverty reduction, the Party and State has taken special care of former revolutionary zones. The rates of poor households in these areas have reduced continuously year on year and faster than the average nationwide rate.
In Tuyen Quang province alone, the State has invested VND 506 billion towards the implementation of the revised project on socio-economic development of the 19 communes of the three districts of Son Duong, Yen Son and Chiem Hoa, which used to belong to the revolutionary safe zone. Thanks to the project, a number of schools, clinics, roads, bridges, radio-television towers and other facilities have been built, which, alongside new residential homes, industrial groupings and verdant fields, has really changed the face of this former revolutionary safe zone.
Additionally, the Party and State has 94 policies, comprehensively supporting ethnic minority people, including those living in former safe zones. These policies not only provide urgent assistance packages to needy people of ethnic minorities but also implement long-run support projects to basically reduce poverty in remote areas, home to many ethnic minority communities.
Party’s viewpoint coincides with Vietnamese philosophy of life
“When drinking water, one should remember those who dug the well” is a well known Vietnamese philosophy of life. From the first days gaining power from the French colonialists, the People’s Democratic Republic of Vietnam, under the leadership of the Party, had policies and activities returning gratitude to revolutionary people and troops who had contributed to the success of the revolutionary struggle for national independence and freedom. The Party and State has continued this tradition ever since. Looking into the Party’s and State’s policies and practices, one should realize that returning gratitude to revolutionary contributors is the Party’s and State’s persistent viewpoint throughout all historical periods.
Admittedly, a number of ethnic minority people, including those living in former safe zones, still have poor lives. Although the Party’s and State’s policies always focus on developing socio-economies of remote areas and improving the lives of ethnic minority people, difficult terrains of remote areas have more or less prevented the policies from being realized. What is more, some Central agencies and local authorities have not run support projects effectively.
To address these limitations and weaknesses, the Prime Minister has recently asked the Ministry of Investment and Planning, the Ethnic Committee and involved Central agencies to conduct fact-finding trips and surveys in remote mountainous areas and then provide proposals to revise and supplement the existing policies in order to increase the efficiency of the implementation of support policies. Accordingly, the Ministry of Investment and Planning has been asked to revise the management mechanisms of the National Objective Program, and to link this program with a sustainable master plan for hunger elimination and poverty reduction for local people and the new rural model-building program.
The Ministry of Finance is entrusted with drawing up a general financial plan to run a combined program of all support programs and projects for each remote mountainous area in order to more effectively use resources and reduce the gap of socio-economic development levels between mountainous areas and plains.
The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs should carefully study the socio-economic development levels, living conditions of people and workforces in mountainous areas and then draw up general plans to invest in building infrastructure, creating jobs and livelihoods for local people and closely cooperating with local authorities and other ministries in implementing support policies.
In conclusion, the Party and State has had policies supporting those in former safe zones, who contributed to the revolutionary cause in the past. This is so evident.
What hostile forces voice on their websites is completely false. In distorting the Party’s and State’s policies for revolutionary contributors of ethnic minorities, they aim to separate people of ethnic minorities in mountainous areas, particularly former safe zones. With their attempts to damage the national great unity and socio-political security in mountainous areas, they should be seen as reactionaries, who are ungrateful to the nation and Fatherland

There have recently appeared a number of articles on the internet with distorted and fabricated information, targeting at the Party and State of Vietnam by continuously blackening, slandering and degrading senior leaders.

Gentle Moon 1/9/15 21:01

Vietnamese people in general have turned their back on such false information. But some still have had doubts about it.

For those who are alert in their information or have seen the picture elsewhere before, they immediately realize the tricks. However, such tricks, indeed, make some people believe in the story as people are usually curious about information in the back of the political stage.

But it must be said that those who believe in such stories do not understand hostile forces’ tricks nor have enough knowledge, and that number is small.

hostile forces often use the malicious trick of taking some facts published in the press and then mixing them with false information to make up a story in order to cheat gullible people.

they post some articles with some underneath notes that those articles are extracted from tapes and that the tapes would soon be posted; but readers never have a chance to listen to the tapes and it turns out to be one of their routine tricks, the senior reporter explained.

They often increase their activities before the national events, particularly Party meetings at the central level; what is more dangerous to the society is that their operations become well organized and more and more professional
