Happy International Day is celebrated annually on 20th of March to raise the awareness of the international community that happiness is not only universal aspirations, but also need to be included in the policy objectives. In 2016, this special day is to focus on the fight against climate change with the aim of bringing a happy world.
At a high-level meeting on the happiness with the theme "Happiness and Prosperity: The definition of a new economic system" in April 2012, Secretary General of the United Nations estimated that the world needed a new economic system, in which recognized equality, parity between the three pillars of sustainable development. Prosperous society, economy and environment are inseparable. They jointly build the world's happiness.
In a resolution issued on June 12, 2012, the UN General Assembly decided to choose the 20th of March to commemorate the annual International Day of happiness. Since 2013, the United Nations has conducted celebrate this special day to raise awareness of the international community that happiness is not only universal aspirations, but also need to be included in the main policies’ target.
In the message for the International Day of happiness this year (March 20, 2016), the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said this year's celebration focuses on the fight against climate change to bring a happy world.
Senior leaders of the United Nations stressed at the time marked by the profound injustice, war-torn, mass migration, poverty and other sufferings caused by humans as at present, happy international day is an opportunity to assert that peace, prosperity and happiness everywhere should be placed above all else. This anniversary is not only to promote the satisfaction of each individual, but also confirms that we have a collective responsibility for all humanity.
Most recently, the United Nations has launched a new program of sustainable development, with 17 goals for sustainable development, as well as an international agreement on climate change adopted in Paris. Progress in implementing the goals of the sustainable development program for 2030, we will be able to contribute to the expansion of happiness and ensuring peace.

According to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the best way to celebrate the International Day of happiness is to take action to ease the sufferings. In this logic, the international community need responding to the International Day of happiness to revive global solidarity to build a world that is safer and more prosperous, more sustainable future for everyone.
